ABOUTThe Alaska pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) is naturally pelagic species which is harvested in the eastern and western parts of the North Pacific Ocean, the Seas of Japan and Okhotsk, and the Bering Sea (FAO 61). Adult fish length can be up to 75 cm, weight up to 1900 g; average length 20-55 cm, weight 180-700 g. Size and weight gradation as well as chemical composition depend on season and fishing area. If produced h/g, size grades are 20+, 25+, and 30+ cm. Nutrition (per 100g): Kcal - 72, protein - 15,9g, fat - 0,9 g, cholesterol 50 mg, fatty acids - 0,2 g.
