ABOUT

The Pacific herring (Clupea pallasi) is harvested by our ships in the Sea. The species has a trout-like body shape, large scales, a single dorsal fin, and a forked tail. Pacific herring can reach 46 cm in length, but an average length for an adult fish is 33 cm.

Normal harvesting size (21 cm) is achieved at 3-4 years old. Harvested fish are normally up to 30 cm long and weigh 200-300 g. Before freezing, Pacific herring are graded by weight - the grades are
